Maureen McDonnell, BA

National Director for Healthcare Initiatives

Maureen McDonnell works at the intersection of public health and the criminal justice system by building partnerships and coalitions to facilitate problem-solving processes. With over 25 years at TASC, she works to increase access to healthcare for people in the justice system by developing initiatives that include health insurance enrollment at jail intake, pretrial, and prison, as well as linkages to health care at jail release. She leads active systems planning processes in Illinois and provides consultation to jurisdictions nationally in these areas.

Maureen has served on the Illinois Department of Human Services mental health strategic planning process, and the joint Medicaid/Substance Abuse working group addressing detoxification services. She also served as a co-chair of the Parity/Health Reform Task Force for the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association (IADDA), which is now the Illinois Association for Behavioral Health (IABH), and is a member of the Affordable Care Act and Justice technical assistance team for the National Institute of Corrections.

Maureen earned her BA in economics from Northwestern University.
